Quote from Entwood.
"Sorry ... but the eyebrows, stickers, and the V8 thing have ruined a very nice looking car .. "
BUT with respect you have a Gold car by the looks of things. In itself it looks the part but with Black it can really only go one way...ermmm Black ! Thats it.
It is very difficult, in my opinion, to have a Black car stand out, to look anything apart from ermm Black.
On a Gold car, things stand out as being a different colour... Black tyres, black wipers, black grill and perhaps trims. On a Gold car you have contrast...on a Black car your haven't and unless you want to introduce wild colours it is very difficult to know what on earth to do.
A black car is mean and moody...thats what black is..hence I was trying to add a few little touches to change things slightly...perhaps NOT for the better but as I said, its very difficult with Black !!!!!

Get rid of eyebrows and stickers and the silly V8 thing (you were worried about devalueing it...making people think it's a V8 when it isn't is effectively doing that!), but keep the grill, and it'd be noice.
Completely black Omegas are quite rare. I don't see where the fascination with "making it stand out" comes from. A nice stainless steel exhaust and the lack of a grill will "turn heads" if attention is what you're after.
I'd be happy with a stealthy luxobarge that has a very decent punch should it be required. No need for "Holden" stuff.

For what its worth from someone who has a repertoire of some of the worst cars in the UK....
A standard black/black Omega is designed to be understated and cool without trying too hard-personally I would say the stickers, graphics, V8, Holden stuff undermines this.
If it was mine, I would return it to standard except for your grill, then Opelise it (not Holdenise) with Opel badges on alloys and bootlid. Only other mod would be white side repeater lenses and possibly a private plate to hide the age.
Its a personal thing and its a lovely car-hope you like the input.
I think the above changes would complement the mean, understated appeal of the standard model, not detract from it
Thanks for posting pics-interesting

I like Holden....can't afford one but like them.
Its only us Migarites that would know theres something fishy....heck..even fooled a Vauxhall mechanic the other day...NOT that that's hard ?? he he he he.
Suspect that 99.9% of people have no clue as to what HSV stands for so tis fun to keep them guessing.
PLUS when I DO get my Holden, I'll have some additional decals.
I take your point....tis down to personal choice I guess, fortunately decals and eyebrows don't change the fact that she DOES go like sh1t of a shovel
if i don't mind visiting the pumps fairly often.
I DID think about the Opelise option but several people do that already...Hey ! I guess i could have Cadilaced it.....but then i'd have to have plonked a load of dents in her....I know...I've driven in the US.

Lose the eyebrows, lose the stupid V8 badges, it isn't. Lose the holden badges it isn't, clear side repeaters and it'll look quality

I like sleepers (understated cars which pack a surprise) rather then letting everybody know what is under the bonnet-it is more fun
For example, I would stick a 1.9TDI badge on the back of a hot VW/Audi or a 1.8LS badge on a VXR and tone it down as far as poss...
A 3.6 V6 4wd Skoda Superb with a few management tweaks and a 1.4TSI badge could be a giggle
I think the phrase was "speak softly and carry a big stick"

Oh I forgot to add chrome number plate holders and it'll look perfect, it doesn't need stupid V8 badges or Holden one's

THIS is one of the great reasons I love OOF ....to get advice and seek opinions.
All of which I really appreciate. I've given it a lot of thought and decided that tomorrow, at some point, the stickers are gonna get the hair dryer treatment.
Gonna keep the grill, brows and HSV/Lion Logo on the back but think the rest will be going "bye bye".
Thanks for your views chaps!

Naff - lose the silly V8 badge and holden decals and eyebrows - spoils what would be a nice motor.

A very nice looking car D however the wheel size is a bit overpowering and the additional badges and graphics don't do it any favours.
