Wanted Diff/driveshafts for a 2.2auto

From the noises its making, I guess my diff has not got long to go.

Anyone breaking a suitable donner vehicle ?. I think the diff is 4.22 ratio, and I think it was used on several of the autos, eg 2.5, 3.0 but not 3.2. I will check up on this asap.

Cheers Ken

PS if anyone's interested, I can trade a newly tested and filled 9L bottle of Argon/CO2 welding gas for the diff.

Hiya Mate, I have a 1999 3.0 Mv6 auto saloon, I have no idea of the ratios.

Thanks for that,
I'll try and workout the size and shape of the 1999 box and check if its compatable with mine. Hopefully so, looks I am taking off a diff next weekend !.

Cheers Ken

Hi,
I have just checked up, it looks like the 4.22 diff was only fitted to the 2.2 (manual and auto), the 2.5 auto from 1998, and the 2.6 auto.  The 3.0 Auto is a 3.90 ratio. Thats a shame cause you are not too far away, and the diff's making a lot of noise. I wonder what it would be like with the wrong ratio in ?.

Cheers Ken
