What sort of spec difference is there between CD, CDX, and Elite models?

i dont understand that... doesnt the omega have a 75 litre tank? if youre paying £120 a tank that means youre paying £1.60 a litre? i dont think things are that bad at the pumps (yet!)

for a long trip the elite has cruise control (very useful for mpg) and sat nav. interior self dimming mirrors so you can ignore the vertebrea from behind and (a rear window blind)a 4cd changer when it works.

The following for me are essential:

Auto box
Cruise control
Air con

What else can I expect from a CD/CDX/Elite?

Much appreciate all the help, although I've been into Vauxhalls, Omegas are new territory for me.

I got one, a knackered 1993 2.0 GLS, as an emergency courtesy car a while ago.

Even though it self destructed, and I was the last person to drive it, it was superb, I wasn't going to consider anything else.

Dont worry about the difference in spec.

Spend your money right and you'll have a GOOD 3.0 Elite.  Dont bother with the 2.5..... you'll only beg for the 3.0 afterwards.

CD/CDX spec is nice, you'll get good comfort, but always see Elites and wish you had one.

It's not like you are spending 10k........ get the RIGHT car and you'll love it.  Settle for something slightly less than the best and you'll regret it.

EDIT:  Sorry to anyone who drives anything other than a 3.0 Elite, but you just dont have the real deal!

Am I right in thinking the 3.2 was brought in to replace the 3.0 in facelift models?

Hi,

I drive a 3.2 manual , get 420 miles a tank of unleaded petrol if that helps :y :y

Ploppy :y

How much is a full tank?

Cheers
16.5 galls.

that makes your MPG 25.454545454545454545454545454545 on a full tank .

Depending on driving style and roads I would expect better than that.

I agree, My GLS has done 24k less than my Elite and all I have done is put 4 new tyres on and change the cassette /radio for a cd/radio, then I bought the Elite and cant remember the last time I drove the GLS.  (No toys, leather or sunroof)  Sad really coz it's a cracking car.

The 3.2 was brought in to meet more stringent emission controls whilst keeping power.  It is commonly known that the 3.0/3.2 have no difference in 'real world' power.  If anything the 3.0 will outperform the later 3.2, but this is marginal.
