Ex plod 3.2 manual estate.
« on: 15 April 2010, 23:13:15 »

Okay, going to be perfectly honest, this car has quite an impressive variety of problems. Not expecting much money, just thought i might as well offer it rather than have it cubed.

Has four recent tyres, rears have about 1500 miles on, front have a few hundred. All are budget though.
Had middle and back exhaust replaced about 9000 miles ago
Lambda sensors replaced about same time
Has tow bar with single electrics

The problems:
Exterior:
Quite a few dings
Had a rubbish respray at some point, can see evidence on roof rails and plastics. Doesn't look to bad though.

Interior:
Ash tray wont open
Glove box handle broken off
Inside of glove box is a load of wires. either audio or police equipment
No ashtrays in the read doors
Fair bit of wear on the drivers seat (leather seats, the kind with sliding bits at front of the front seats)
Has a cheap aftermarket radio, plays CDs, radio part doesnt work. dont think its connected to anything
Some damage to the window tinting stuff on the boot window
No luggage cover for the boot

Mechanical:
Emissions light is on, has been for some time
Exhaust gasses are dark at times, think its cat converter
Either noisy diferential, gearbox or something like that
Tracking is out on front suspension quite badly, old tyres were down to cords on the inside
One of the halogen headlights is out
Runs at quite a high temperature in town recently, about 90, fan kicks in and is quite noisy

Will take some pictures in the morning.
Should get my new car middle of next week, so will be available after then
Probably not worth the effort to fix it up, good for somebody to use until MOT time and scrap then or to break i guess. To be honest i have neither the time nor money to sort it out, offering here incase anyone can make use of the car.

I'd be interested dependant on age, what plate is it? And do you know which force it came from by any chance?

i bought the car last august from a backstreet dealer in Luton, it was owned privately before the dealer sold it us.
The oldest MOT cert i have was issued 2006, the inspection authourity is Thames valley police transport vechile workshop, Bicester. I assume this is where the car was in service.
Car is 2003, on an '03' plate.

That's actually exactly what I was hoping  :y
Thames Valley Police Bicester look after vehicles operated by the chiltern transport consortuim which are vehicles from Bedfordshire and TVP.
Does the registration start with OU, OE, OV, OY or OX?
