I may not be a fan...
« on: 27 March 2015, 20:59:21 »

...of shitbox Zafiras, but the Battlebus has taken us up to the Lakes for the last week, and brought us back safely, without missing a beat, or complaining (too much) about going up and down all the passes. Used over 2 full tanks of diesel, and averaged just under 37mpg.

Needs a wash now.  Though that'll be a job for next year (unless I sell it this year).

Where would seven people want to go without luggage or shopping? I suppose you could get two carrier bags behind the back seat.

My R Class is the same ....... 6 people & a wash bag a piece, 4 passengers & plenty of luggage or 2 of us & more luggage space than you could ever want to take  ;)

There you go, that's where you ducked up... ;D

If you'd bought the LWB one, you could carry five people and their luggage and it would still only cost £500 a year to tax ::)

Completely agree not many available with seats and space, had the same problem when looking round a few years ago and ended up with...........

A Grand Espace

Seven seats when you need them with plenty of space behind or cavernous with five seats only in.
Going to Scotland next week with five of us and luggage plus five bikes.......all in the boot.

I know the general forum views on Renaults but to be honest it has not been that bad on reliability, goes through suspension and tyres almost as fast as a mig!
But very smooth very quiet very comfortable and even fully loaded quite brisk 2.2 dci and 150bhp

Would your favourite the Frontera have done a better job?  :)

Did you manage to resolve the lack of performance?

It performs well between 2000 and 3300 rpm.

Below and above that it seems like it's labouring, and the power "surges" in and out.

With good fuel, it'll redline in the first 3 gears, though 2nd and 3rd especially it's not happy doing so.

I should add, no idea what's normal on these. My old L series Rover 400s pulled well all the way to 5k, and would easy redline in the first 3 gears

Then you've got your head in the sand. Moaning about Renault reliability whilst driving an omega.

tbh I had 2 of them a old shape 2.0 DTI auto which went like a bat out of hell...then a 1.9 cdti manual and that was dreadfully slow getting to 50....after that it went quite well :y
