Sad day tomorrow.
« on: 23 July 2017, 21:03:30 »

After two glorious weeks of doing very little, I shall be rejoining he ranks of the gainfully employed. Oh and starting my run of 750-1000 miles a week of commuting.

One thing I did manage to achieve over the last few days was shovelling, barrowing and spreading about 8Ton of gravel. So my back is dropping subtle hints that it's time to get back behind a desk!  ;D

Once it's up on the market I do hope the house sells quickly. I need to move closer to the office!

That's a lot of commuting! When I first moved up here I was doing 600 a week and that just about killed me - it's tolerable now it's down to one day a week in the office (so ~150 miles) but there was no way I could keep up with leaving at 5am and getting home at 7.30pm.. hopefully your commute doesn't involve the M1 & M25 though! I didn't mind the miles, it was sitting in traffic for 4-6hrs a day that killed me.

Good luck in the new job :) what are you doing at TP?

I wouldn't mind betting that I do more physical exercise than you every day.

Senior Internal audit manager, or Management Botherer as it's better known ;). No M25 for me, but I do have M42 and M6. My old job was in Rushden, so 30mins further at rush hr and I coped ok with doing that 3 -4days a week. i agree sitting in traffic is tedious. I think im going to miss the omega's slushbox!

I understand there's a local pub/b&b that does good rates for TP staff  so I willprobably end up staying over on Wednesdays to break the week up :).

Don't underestimate the effort involved in legging it from the bizzies. Especially when weighed down with a microwave under one arm and a telly under the other...

Now then, Sir Tig. It's hard work taking a frisky whippet out for a walk and a dump twice a day. :)

Will your company pay for an 'escort' to join you in your room. Employee  well being is very important. :)

www.spareroom.co.uk is your friend.

I won't travel more than 1 hour each way to any contract. So for 8 years have lived in 9 different houses Monday to Friday.
