Old Diesel Fuel
« on: 16 November 2017, 20:05:41 »

I have approx 10 Gallons of the stuff. 2001 vintage. Would it still be able to be used in an engine? Or does it have a shelf life?

I'd probably use a gallon in each of the next 10 fill ups ..... that's what I did with the petrol diesel mix I ended up with after mis-fuelling my diseasal Astra a few years back.

If its nonbio then it should be fine, if you get stuck I can dispose of it at the railway (by either using it in the parts washer or chucking it in a loco)

Given that it's a few million years old anyway I'm sure it'll be fine!  ::)  :D

Although it might have water contamination from condensation, depending on where, how and in what it's been stored in.  :-\

Thank you for the offers and suggestions.  :y

It's in two metal jerrycans, once I dig it out of the back of the garage I'll be looking to give it away or dispose of it. :)

I would have thought a trip from yours to Nottingham and back would have been a worthy visit for 10 Gallons.  :-\  ;)

Not really worth a day out for that amount tbh, although some diesel or misfuel is handy with winter on its way to thin the wvo down a bit.
