good deed of the day
« on: 26 October 2013, 19:37:50 »

On my way home from work this afternoon (OT  ::)) I spotted an elderly lady looking a little upset stood at the side of her mobility scooter on the pavement. As I got nearer her, I could see that scooter was at an odd angle to the pavement & it was stuck half & half on the grass verge & the pavement.
Naturally I pulled over & asked if I could help. She'd been trying to turn round on the pavement, put a wheel on the grass & grounded it. I asked her which direction she wanted to go in & pull the scooter off the grass. She was delighted, thanked me, hoped on & scootered away.  :y  :y  :y

Now why couldn't any of the other drivers that had driven passed done the same thing?  ???

Good on you!I hope that if ever the dragonlady finds herself in the same situation when out and about on hers that a good Samaritan like you is around to help her out.

Problem is Andy these days Joe Public are to busy / in a rush / too lazy / or more likely to mug the old dear.

I went to a job this week where some ******* had ran (with his car) into 94yr old gent on his mobility scooter, sent him flying then disappeared without trace. Leaving the poor old chap distraught, injured & stranded as one of the wheels had fell off  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Ok the scooter perhaps shouldn't have been 'in' the road but because of inconsiderate parking on the pavement he had no choice but to use the road.
