How many Omegas (if any) do you have now Kris ? Istr it was 12 or 13 at one point.  ::)
I'm down to 3 now,      ..... I think,  some of the ones where I don't remember where I parked them, have now ceased to exist, probably now belong to the DVLA, Local Council or Essex Police , I trust they would have put them to good use. :-X

The 3 I have will very soon become 1,  :( the last one I'm clinging onto for dear life is the 3.2 Manual Special ExPee Saloon with LPG (ex Thames Valley, the Silver Sisters Car to Josh's old Black one).

Edit, you've just nudged my memory now, Twiglett from here bought my 2.5TD Estate, for the Veggie Oil thing, then after running it around similar to a Fish and Chip Shop, scrapped it to, sorry, meant to say, Sold it as a Runner, to PaulK in Dartford.   ;D

It's all start to come back to me suddenly, think I might give the DVLA a ring in the morning, and ask, Where's my bloody ...........

They are a cracking car for soaking up the miles.  I miss mine :(
Must admit despite all the playing about with MV6's, ExPlods and Specials over the years, I still miss my 2.5TD Manual Estate, it was a proper Work Horse, its a real shame we never got the Euro 24V version in the UK I would have definitely been up for that.

Trump just made 4.5 Million on this little Scam, not bad for a few hours work.  ::)

Should be enough for more bribes.

It’s actually PX24 which we used to use in the military.
Always thought that and WD was the same thing
The letters in WD40 actually stand for Water Displacement.

It was originally developed by a Rocket Research Contractor to the US Defence and later for NASA, it was originally used as an preventative anti rust solution for the Atlas Rockets and also used on the outside skins for the Apollo Mission as an Water/Ice Desplacement just before lift off so any Fuel Ice Build Up would disperse within seconds after Take Off.

As TB points out its an Oil based product, purely as a it sticks rather than a lubricant, and any oil is an insulater to electrical contacts as oil acts as a insulater.

Some Airport Services in the Colder Regions also mix WD40 with the Antifreeze Solutions they use when Jet Washing Aircraft prior to take off to give some extra protection on their climb out.  ;)

Omega General Help / Re: ECU interchangeability
« on: 17 December 2022, 14:38:06 »
Can't remember chip type though, I think it was a bit smaller than the 512Mbit one used on the diesels of the era.

I have the factory map from my old 1998 retail MV6

Fairly sure they were M27C256 so yea 256mbit, which reminds me, still go some 3.0 Superchips and ExPlod Courtenay Chips kicking around somewhere, thanks TB forgot all about them.

If we are talking about simular years, or close to bear in mind Preface and MiniFace), then it should work, as long as you've done the the ECU + Transponder Module + Key Chip, you are correct they will be different Maps but My experience of ECU Swaps is mainly on the 3.2, and again a 2.6 will work and get you out of trouble or run permently if you not that bothered about the Map difference.

You are also correct on the Auto / Manual thing with the earthing of one of the pins, but just to point out this is not the same or an easy fix for the 2.6 / 3.2's.

Omega General Help / Re: ULEZ & 2.2 petrol
« on: 13 December 2022, 15:41:34 »
LPG does make it ULEZ compliant IIRC.  Seem to recall my last 2 Omegas were, for that very reason.
Not any more they stopped all that years ago, first for Congestion Charge then followed by ULEZ, as far as I can work out its purley down to the Reg No. vs TFL Look Up data, guess some Vehicles are incorrect on the Data Base, probably my 3.2 Sp being one of them.

From memory I dont even think the LPG Fitment on that car has been registered on the Log Book.  :-\

For some reason my very last surviving Plod  Reg Number (2003 3.2 Special Manual LPG'd) is still showing as completely free of all this ULEZ Rubbish.  :D

An LPG'd Prius....  :-\

I needed to lie down and have a think about that.  ::)

So it's a hybrid hybrid?  ???   :)
Probably more of a Trybrid, if there is such a word.  :-\

I acquired it last year when we had that Fuel Shortage Crisis, as with both the Tanks Full has a poddeling around Range of over 1200 miles.  ;)

being serious though as much as I hate the thing and the look of it, once you get the hang of how it should be driven, bearing in mind its Electric Assisted with the Petrol Engine, it has incredible potential in terms of Fuel Savings, and I would probably say cheaper than Driving / Charging a Full Electric Only EV car.  :)

Well this is going to be embarrassing, a Black 1.8 LPG'd Prius, which is returning me about 48 to 50 mpg on the LPG stuff in and out of London.

With the cost of Petrol now compared to LPG, doing the maths it's around 6.7p a mile or the equivalent to 134mpg on current Petrol Prices.
