Doubt that point of view will ever see main stream media.

I have to admit that I found all the eulogising at the memorial service about what an all round lovely bloke and great father George Floyd was, a bit nauseating.   :-\

What happened to him was appalling, but if he was indeed that all round lovely bloke, he wouldn't have attracted the attention of Minneapolis's 'finest'.  He would be alive today, and that scared and confused little girl that her disgusting mother paraded for the worlds media would still have her Daddy.  ::)

Although it's probably debatable whether she knew him anyway.....  :-X

The black community needs to pick it's heroes more carefully.

The only thing I see from all this George Floyd  "pain" is a stand against authority & decency.

Jeremy Vine is such a simpering Mangina. Balanced he is not.

Apparently we should take down the statue(s) of Churchill, Cromwell, and Nelsons column amongst others.

Ah well, BLM seems to know best so we'd better get on with it. :)

Sadiq Khan is a fraction of the Mayor that Boris was >:(

Ok, there are some people, centuries ago, that weren't simply successful, they literally built empires and made the quality of life that we ALL enjoy today. It is irrefutable that they did some pretty horrific things in the process, but to wipe them from history makes no sense.

We should actively acknowledge the contributions that these entrepreneurs and business leaders made, both positive and negative. Without remembering the past there is nothing to measure the future against, which is a very dangerous path to take.

Yep you cannot judge history by today's standards.  Edward Colston for example was a man of his time when frankly most people probably saw nothing wrong with slavery (Unless you were enslaved of course!) and if he were alive today would still be a successful businessman and would just be buying and selling something else.  ::)

But where does this all lead?  In years to come maybe we should tear down statues of people who made fortunes from coal or oil?   If the mob and their appeasing supporters think it's OK to tear down and desecrate public monuments that remind us of the past, when do the book burning's start?   ::)

I'm increasingly coming round to the idea of buying a house on it's own somewhere remote and getting a couple of big dogs and a shotgun!  :-X
