dash assembly method
« on: 16 July 2010, 08:59:25 »

does anyone know how the factory went about fitting the dash when it built Omegas ?

I have a hunch that the entire dash and front bulkhead was assembled line-side and offered up to the car when complete and glued in place.

When we had a Factory Tour in Ruesselsheim a couple years ago you could see how they were putting the Vectra/Signum together

The dash panel went line side as a complete unit with all the heater and ac in place and just slid into place by two guys and pluged in.

I would think its the same on the Omega as the main bulkhead would have to be in place to move the shell on the line.

The Omega dash is a bugger to come out and if i remember i think you have to slide it back from the screen before lifting it out

Cheers
