Engine size
« on: 24 November 2015, 18:41:03 »

During a working day my mind has a tendency to wander off at odd tangents, and todays musing was about the X-Type Jaguar/Ford,or rather the baby V6 they had.How did Jaguar/Ford achieve the 2.1l capacity?Did they sleeve down the Mondeos 2.5v6,or alter its stroke, perhaps a bit of both?Or did they use the engine from another manufacturer?I can't see them developing at totally different engine for it-or did they?Again just out of academic interest.

Reduced stroke.

Many common parts but differently implemented, overall.

Did they increase the stroke of the 2.0l EcoTec to make it into the 2.2l?
