Is there a way to check the leveling motors for XENON-lights when the motors aren't in the car?

I have a few extra from cars I scrapped and I would like to check if they are good or not.

Thinking that I could connect them to 12+V and see if they move or not.

Hmmm, not sure without the ECU which sits up on the wheelarch.  Not sure if its a PWM control line, or a variable voltage.

I'll try to look at wiring diagram later.

I had just taken one motor apart when you posted.

It looks like pin 2 and 4 goes to the motor. The other pins goes the switch in the motor that stops the motor from going to far.

I'll check and confirm later.

There should be some kind of feedback circuit as well, so the Headlight Levelling ECU would know the light's position.

Ok I can confirm that pin 2 and 4 powers the motor. Switch Pos and Neg between them moves the adjuster in or out. Be careful to just give them a short push just to see that it moves. Using this method bypasses the built-in stop that prevent the motor from going to far in or out. Pin 1, 5 and 6 are for the stop at each end of the cycle and they report back to the ECU.
