air temperature sensor

when i open my bonnet (2.2dti ) there is a loose wire which should be attached to the air temperature sensor. i cannot find the air sensor. so need some help in finding it.  p.s sorry to James i think it was who remarked about the wire at the recent Brackley meet whom suggested it was supposed to be attached to aforesaid sensor. at the time i didn,t think it was

it should be clipped to the center of the front bumper ,but you have replaced your bumper IIRC  :-\

unless you have the old bumper with it on , or the new bumper has one fitted but not connected  :-\

So presumably your outside temp reading is reading F (for fault).  That'll confuddle the climate ;D

When wifey's astra h went in for a front end repair, it came back with the temperature reading around 50° after warm up. Sensor was obviously in close proximity to the hot bits.  ;D

But your inside cabin temp will be up the pole ....

PFL - Clips into hole on underside of front bumper, right on the passenger (RHD) corner
FL - Clips into hole on underside of front bumper, near the centre
FL with Irmscher bumper - Clips into hole visible through mess under numberplate.
