Yep, nice looking car.

It will be interesting to see how you get on with it over time.

What headlights do you have? I am unimpressed withmy bi xenons. I guess LEDs are the go to now.

It's got Bi-xenons that go round corners for some reason, How I've managed all these years going round corners I don't know..

The DS had them in the 70s  ;)

I think it was mid 50s that the DS got them !
without Googling it .... I thought the swivel headlight DSs came with the later larger DS21 type double headlight .... earlier DSs had a single round headlight.

Google says 1967 so I was a bit early :y

Had an enjoyable, fast run across the Dales at dusk.  Reminded me how capable the X351 really is  :y

Is that when it works !!

No I've been pretty fortunate with the RR so far & try to keep on top of any problems asap, I've been advised to replace the suspension compressor as its thrown up a couple of faults recently & is getting sluggish in operation, according to the service history it was replaced a few years ago so that's booked in at the beginning of April before I start towing the caravan.

Ask whoever is doing it to check the air reservoir as they seem to rot out and leak, seen two or three do this in the last year or so

Even cheap cars like a 1.0 3 cylinder fiesta can get big bills, wet belt change is a 7hr job + parts which at dealer prices is mental money on an 8-10 year old shitbox

« on: 15 February 2024, 07:19:54 »
I have just started to get the warning that my adblu is low & I only have about 1500 kilometers before the engine wont start , on this car ( 2019 citroen c4 cactus 1.5 dti ,spacetourer ) the filling is situated next to the diesel . Nowhere in the user manual does it tell me how much of the ad blu that I need to put in . do i just fill until it takes no more?

.

Just brim it Ray,it won't do any harm

From my experience of driving them in the early 90's, if you drove one now, you may not miss it quite as much as you think... ;D
I had three of them in total, 1st was 825 Sterling which was under powered,2nd was 827sli auto which is still on the road and the Vitesse was the last one but that was a manual :y

in my opinion, the best rovers were the 6 series. We had a 623SLi, with the 2.3 Honda engine, so much low down grunt.

I had a 620Ti after the Vitesse, enjoyed that one too, properly quick for back then  :y

I had an 827 Vitesse with the Honda V6 in it, cracking car which I miss a lot.

Changed the oil in hers.  Being a diesel chain driven engine, I start to get twitchy once its done more than 4k on the oil.

Any wonder, the earlier Ingenium engines are prone to chain issues, my lads Xf needs doing at 82k with full history

Its the crazy 21k mile intervals that take out the chains (the links wear)...........full service history is never a good sign.

No matter now, WBAC gave him more than he paid for it so its gone.
Shame as he liked the car  but not the reputation of the early ingenium diesel !
