Aye, a big thanks to Chopsdad for finding a great location, organising all the name plates etc.

And not forgetting Timbuk/BoBo/Elite Pete for coming up with the idea back in Feb.

But especially to everyone for making it a brilliant weekend.

Agreed.....  Thanks to all who did the initial legwork to what has proven to be a most enjoyable weekend.  It was good to put faces to names etc.  Guy - not only do you cook a mean curry, you do a 'teh-riff-ick' Mike Reid impersonation as well!  Cheers  :y  B

I finshed of the weekend with a trip to Pizza Hut to reward Chops for behaving all weekend. :D

Thanks to all that came and what a great turnout.  I've sweet talked the owner and we can come back again if we want to - but have to be quiet after midnight :-X  If it wasn't for the bloody Pikeys it would have been plain sailing.

Only one thing left to fix - Markie's avatar.  I'm not in it  >:( ;D

Cheers all :y

Maybe she put us in a field by ourselves - pehaps the footie field (cut the grass though!) - I'm sure we could somehow run some power cables down there?

Also, tbh, I went to bed before midnight on Sat, and you could barely hear the chatting going on from where I was. Certainly wasn't intrusive or annoying....

It was a decent site in a nice area. I didn't get any complaints about the toilets or showers from Mrs TheBoy, so good from that PoV (remember some of the partners may not have been camping before, so good facilities are essential).  My only complaint of the facilities was the showers - Marks_DTM kept using all the hot water!

This is true, actually. The facilities were superb. There was hot water in the showers 24 hrs a day. Most camp sites seem to have a single 3kw immersion for the hot water and if you don't get one of the first half dozen showers of the day it's cold.

An extension into the next field for leccy wouldn't be an issue as we're only really interested in running a few fridges.

However, a mate of mine who is a farmer has just been done for cutting a field when he shouldn't, and moving a fence (3 feet away from where it should be  :o ) on the basis of evidence gathered by satellite. So not only are we paying farmers to grow nothing but we're paying for all sorts of surveillance to ensure they don't.

My (rather long winded) point being - she may not be allowed to have campers on the next field.

She isn't allowed to cram that many tents in a small area due to fire, but it never stopped her ;)

Never got a hot shower :( - I guess I just timed it wrong.

My only other complaint (and I realise it was a busy weekend, and the site was full), could do with more showers. Sunday morning, there were 3 people queing for shower in new block, and 1 person queing in the old block...

...... and late morning Sunday, the three male traps were backed up with paper and £$%^&^%$ to within an inch of the top.  Had to use the other one across the road behind the farmhouse to get rid of my Saturday chilli and burgers.  ;)

And I never got a hot shower all weekend either.  My timing must be out as well!  ;D

OK. I must have been lucky then. I did decide to have showers when I woke up desperate for the loo, normally at circa 5:30 AM but at all other times the water in the sinks was scorching hot. Maybe the showers were a different matter.

I noticed an "out of order" sign had appeared on the gents a little later on Sunday...  ::)

Anyway, had a great weekend. Would have been just as good in a field with no facilities whatsoever, IMO, although I'm sure Emma would differ on that one.  ;D

Agreed. As blokes we could get away with just a spade ;). But like Mrs KevinWood, Mrs TheBoy insists on clean toilets etc....

despite the very minor problems at the site, i think it was an excellent location with fab views. Playing footie in the feild next door as the sun set, was really a nice place to be. Might have to practice my footie skills though.

Big thanks to chopsdad for organsing it, and picking the site, also thanks to timbuk for the hotel tent arrangements  :y The mini disco was fun too!  ;D

Maybe we should speak to the farmer who owns that big field, would be great to have the entire field to ourselves, pay the old bag over the wall a few quid for some power and we would be sorted  :y

Oh and I almost forgot copiouse amounts of falling down water, and some rather nice malts supplied by Hotel 21 apparently he had to obtain a special licence to allow us south of the border to sample them ;)

Well Guy, I had to eat 3 puddings, 1 banoffee pie & 2 chocolate fudgecakes, cos they came with the meal for 4. With the kids being 11 and 1 - somehow it always leaves the sweet stuff for me, so I guess I could make do with just 2 next time  [smiley=evil.gif]
