HBV failure, plenty on e-bay
« on: 20 February 2019, 17:21:54 »

This morning son Ben complained his Omega 3.2 was loosing coolant. I checked it out, and found coolant pouring out behind the gearbox. I changed the HBV, which seems to have cured the fault. Replacing  my spare, I see some on e-bay at £6.98, and more at £11.41. I recollect they used to cost more than this from Vx, more like £30. I imagine they are all from the same Chinese factory. Any comments?

It's a routine Omega service item...

No need to overthink it ;)

The one I bought about 4yrs ago was about £11 and that was a genuine GM from the local Vx dealers.

You did see that Terry is the OP?  ;D

I'd buy the cheapest one with a sensible delivery date. The £8 HBV was on my car for two years before I snapped the vacuum fitting off it by reaching past it wearing a winter coat.

Back in October 2016 I replaced mine.  £18.20 with TC from Vx.

However, I have noted VX parts prices are going up steadily at the moment. :(
