Title: Exhaust
Post by: Raeturbo on 02 August 2019, 12:20:10
I’ve only got exhaust coming out of one of my pipes that come out of the silencer. There  is very little and it’s quite colder coming out of the other pipe. Please could someone with the same twin pipe exhaust muffler/silencer on their car try it and see if it’s the same as mine👍

My cars in bits not running, so cant check fir you now, however from memory / experience they should be equal. A mate if mine reckons that the twin pipe setup may be at least partially split right into the silencer, so a sort if baffle inside the backbox separating the two halves.
Sounds ti me like a blockage, which can/will stuff up your mpg/emissions.  :)

 .....

If an Omega's rear silencer is like a Senator's back box .... the the 2 inlet pipes pass directly through the box but each of them are perforated within the box itself.

Yep, if one of them isn't working it's likely that the inner pipe has rotted away and a load of wadding is about to make a bid for freedom. ;D

It often blows the box apart rather than coming out the tailpipe. Its a bit close to the fuel tank for comfort when that happens, so best get it changed.

Thanks I had that happen to me in the 2.2 great release of power but this is a twin  box and I’ve already had some fibre glass out of it. Hopefully somebody can test it for me. I will fit a new stainless all through no doubt but still . ‘ I’ve just gots to know’ 🤸🏼‍♀️

Tie the Wadding to a Lamp Post then drive, away, far away.
