Well, I won't be doing that again.

Took the cover off the the gear selector, can't see bugger all underneath it.

Clipped it back on, selector wouldn't come out of park!

Took the cover back off, wiggled the selector, eventually it came out of park.

Put the cover back on and it seem to select OK now.

Bloody cars!

Nothing like the Omega set up in there :'(

Hmmm, it's funny it's happening on both our cars.

Can't be a coincidence.
have the cars been left in the hot sun recently  :-\

Vauxhall ignition barrels   have a habit of sticking in when you pull the key out
the center section should spring out slightly
assuming it's a standard old style metal key  :-\

It's nothing to do with the ignition barrel Dave, it's to do with the gear change not always triggering the park sensor.

We've got 2.

Intermittently both cars fail to engage park properly, so you cannot remove key from the ignition.

With the ignition switched on and moving the gear leaver backwards and forwards it eventually releases the key.

I've searched for a solution (seems like a common problem) but results don't seem to offer a satisfactory cure.

Any ideas please?

Vauxhall deny any knowledge of the fault - surprise surprise!

I suspect its regional differences.

Like now many beans make 5.  The yanks get it wrong, as I was taught:
2 Beanz
Half a Bean
A Bean and a half
And a Bean.

My Dad taught me ;-

1 bean
2 beans
a bean and half
and half a bean.

and my Uncle used to say ;-

a bean a bean and half a bean
half a bean
a bean a bean.

I've just realised I'm now the second best snooker player in the world.

In every league match I played this season, I came second ::)

Hi Dave, sorry about the foot but great to hear you're alive and kicking, well, perhaps not kicking.

Went to Nandos last night (not my first choice of eatery, but that's another story) and they expected me to scan a QR code to view the menu online on my phone. No paper menus any more.

Then you're expected to register as a user on the site to order your meal. At this point I told them they could take an order verbally or foxtrott oscar and they reluctantly did so.

I was probably sat at the table an extra 10 minutes as a result, but I was early for my film anyway, so thought I might just as well be wasting their time as my own. ;D

CBA to go through the hassle again to order a desert.

You little devil you ;D

I had a woman with a heavy hardly decipherable accent phone me up yesterday pertaining to be some government scheme offering grants to replace my boiler.

Told her I haven't got a boiler, I've got a fireplace with a coal fire.

She asked me how old it was, I told her 250 years old.

She then asked if I was a homeowner, I told her I was a caretaker.

She asked me what that was, I replied it meant I take care not to fall for scam phone calls.
