Had similar problem, noise appeared and got louder over time. After 1,5-2 weeks noise stopped and so did the blower fan.
Replaced the blower motor and old rotor was very hard to move. It did move a bit when I gave it 12 V from battery, but I think no lubricant could have cured that.
If you need to get it working for a while, you could try to push it through fresh air filter housing with long metal stick (TIG welding rod for example) just to help it get moving. Don't spray anything at it when it's blowing, your interior could get some coating also
