Spark plug recommendation ?

Hi,
     i am doing the cam covers on my 1999 2.5 V6 so now seems the obvious time to replace the Plugs.

Are the genuine Vx ones from a main dealer much more expensive than say champion or Bosch.

In the Haynes manual it quotes Champion R10DMC are these correct and is the gap fixed on these or do they need adjusting? If so what is the correct gap please?

Hi Darryl. Did mine last week. Vx twin electrode are definately the best. I paid £1.87 each + vat trade. I think they are about £3.20 retail.

You'll find 99% of all plugs are pre-gapped.

Look at sparkplugs.co.uk if you cant get the trade price

This what they list for NGK plugs:

Standard/Platinum spark plugs

Iridium spark plugs

Put the iridium plugs in mine nearly a year ago with no problems; took them out a couple of weeks ago to check them and still good

I would not deviate from the standard bosch plugs. Last time i changed it they were about 20£ all of them.

from what I remember the Vx ones - even the quad electrode versions - are actually cheaper than their bosch-branded equivalents - and that's before you factor in any kind of discount ...

Put 6 VX ones in. Cheaper than i could buy aftermarket bits for elsewhere !

Indeed... I am in favour of the Vx-branded Boch plugs - that's what I use in mine.
