Pedal trick doesn't work for some reason. Spanner light remains on. IIRC I have used it in the past, but I may be confusing it with the TD. Paperclip doesn't appear any use as no connectors in 2 & 6 of OBD socket. :(

Is it the spanner light that is on, or the EML as in your first post?

Its the EML light on when running. Spanner light will not flash for pedal trick, stays on. :y

They do everything a dedicated OBD scantool does; they're just a bit fiddlier to use. That's OK if you don't use it very often, and it takes up very little space in the glovebox

Unfortunately I have no idea how much a scantool can do, but I will assume it will reset codes.

Thanks :y

think you have to upgrade the free app to torque pro (about £7 ) to reset abs etc but it will reset eml
I give them to the peasants* to use if their EML comes on ,so i can then know what the likely cause is before i travel / plug in my laptop

Unfortunately I have an iPhone, which appears to be incompatible with these. :(

Then something like THIS would be a good start, although one that reads live data would be better.

Thanks Nick, I agree, and would prefer one that does live data. Can you recommend one? :y

I'm happy with my Autel, but it's about 6 years old. Any of the Autel ones will be fine

Nick, I bought one of those and although it reads codes, it will NOT clear them or put the eml light out. :(

At that price its worth a punt. Doesn't say if it will reset codes though. As Nick suggests, one that will read live data is best. :y
