X168JAT and Longleat monkeys
« on: 07 April 2019, 09:03:40 »

Yesterday my son took this dying car through the Longleat monkey enclosure with grandson Tom on board. Monkeys clambered all over it, but all they removed were the reversing sensors. This morning I shall load it with 4 spare doors, prior to scrapping it after the 14th. I have had little response to the advert for sale so far. Price is very negotiable, but car must go.

Put it on Ebay ,track car/drift RWD for £200
you could also use an on-line buyer like
clicky
or
clicky

expect you'd get £160 ,which is double what you got last time  :y

Sad times  :(

Funnily enough, I went with the first link...

They paid £184 a year ago (Christ, it seems a lot more recently :o) for my manual desmond. I did chuckle at the fact it was taken to Liverpool to be crushed ;D

I went through the questions on the second site using the details of my astra. Told them the year, mileage and stated it had no accident or mechanical damage, they offered £2490 for it.

Question: why would anyone scrap such a car? And why would they think that you'd want to scrap such a car?

Easily acquired, especially if you're stupid enough to leave it in the glovebox... Takes a bit longer if you don't.

Behave yourself. It's nothing to do with stolen/iffy cars.

Bit depressing when even the monkeys at Longleat didn't like the look of it.  :-\

I know, they need it to send the disposal confirmation to the DVLA ;)

Thanks for the tip, Dave. Motorwise gave me £192 for the car. I wish I had known about them earlier.
