Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: NCDC2013 snags

I have the NCDC2013 as well and my aerial has a larger base than my mates Elite had and I think that is where the GPS receiver sits.

Thanks for that Kevin. Is there a particular type I should use. I read somewhere that it should be a 100. Would that be right? I can find 096 and 069 but not 100.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / What battery ?
« on: 28 February 2011, 16:20:20 »
I've domne a search but cannot find any references to what size battery a 2000 F/L Elite should have. The owners manual says 85ah but the car has a 70ah fitted (which may explain why it went flat !!). Do I go with the manual or do you chaps have better advice ?

All suggestions (clean please) welcome.

Don't worry about the code, the only code is for the pairing between the unit and screen (and telematics if you have it).
You will not need to enter a code into the head unit if you remove it and break the power feed.  :y

Will have a dig around and see what i've got left, might not be for a few days though due to work and The Lakes meet.

Would be worth checking exactly what parts you need first before I start searching!  ;)
I'll be able to pull the unit on saturday so will let you know then. Thanks for the help.

I like to think that VXL V6 and I have the world's supply of NCDC bits ;D ;D ;D

Does that mean that a flap may be available ?  ;)

I think I may have one..... will have to have a look through my various boxes of NCDx bits.

Whereabouts are you?

Have you managed to remove the Head Unit? If not you may find it will need more than a flap / catch by the time you've managed to remove it!

Oh and if you have got the unit out and the front bezel off it would be worth inspecting the catch area to see if there is any further damage.

I am in Hemel Hempstead. I went to remove the unit and then realised I don't have the code so I need to sort that out first. I know what you mean about removal, I could end up looking for a complete faceplate !!!!

If it wasn't for the loss of satnav and computer functions I would have whipped the whole thing out and fitted my Pioneer. Rewiring the speakers would have been less of a problem !!

Thanks Dave DND, I'll try the flap first. I'll take the front off of mine to see what is wrong.

That's bad news. Is it posssible to take the flap off of a broken 2006 and fit that to the facia of the 2013 ?

Is it possible to fix the flap to the \cd plsyer on this stereo or do I have to live with it broken?  It appears that the right hand side (sitting in drivers seat) has come adrift. The CD player itself works perfectly.

Tried the wd40 and chain lube route but no success. Replaced solenoid from scrappie and works perfectly now.

..... It's not a problem at the moment as it still works from the driver's door.

As said, try lub'ing all the linkages around the lock, but use something like chain lub rather than WD40. Chain lub will get into all the nooks & crannies but won't disappear like WD does  :y

I'll give that a try as I have some left over from when I had my honda cbr.  :)

First thing to try is take the door card off & give the motor a good dose of WD40 working it in by pressing the central locking remote, it worked for me & a couple of others on here. But, as will be pointed out from fellow OOFers, it might only be a short term solution  :(

Try eBay for a 'New' solenoid, there were quite a few original motors on there last time i looked & that was only a couple of weeks ago!  :y

Been watching ebay and missed one 'cos I was out. I have emailed the chap who has said he will be listing some more shortly so I'll wait for him. It's not a problem at the moment as it still works from the driver's door.
