Title: 10 years in
Post by: relluf on 04 September 2019, 21:02:06
Just been pootling around on here and realised(after looking at my poor stats) that I have been a member on here for just over 10 years, but have only managed 354 (sorry 355 now) posts.

I think I have had four omegas in that time, two TD estates and two petrol saloons.
Remembering back we used to get together occasionally and play Mario kart (well mainly TB and Jimbob).

Anyway its a great forum and has helped me out no end of times with all the knowledge within, I shall have to try and make an effort and contribute more.
I know its the wrong section ,but is anyone up for a NW meet??

If so lets start a thread in the right bit , before we get banned!!!

Don't tell Jon (omegod), he'll come along and try to get you all to sell him your omegas for scrap.  :o

Nice to hear from you again.

It is amazing how time flies. I have just had a look and its 13 years for me. I have had a lot of help from both the forum and members over the years.

I joined up on 9th March 2008 when I stumbled across OOF while searching for clues as to why my speedo had stopped working and I had the TC and ABS lights on all the time.  My local garage were flummoxed, but OOF had all the answers!  :y

Thanks to OOF and the membership I kept my Omega for 11 years!  :y

We've done a few in the past, At Chester Services, and at a Member owned cafe in Holywell.
Think of a location, that will allow a car meet, and chuck it in the meetings section and see what happens.

Always thought about doing a camping meet at Chester Lakes, but facilities are a bit sparce.

Jeezo. July 2006 for me after a friendly nod from Mr Fuse, after a 'mass banning' from another site.  :y :y
The daft thing is I haven't owned an Omega for 10 years, but I still frequent this place.......Whats wrong with me??  ::) :-X
I don't even frequent the site for my current ride any more as it got real quiet about 3 years ago. :-[ :-[
Well done to Jamie, and all you wierdo's that keep this place going so well. :P :y :-*

9 years (13 June 2010) for me .. don't know where the time goes! Must admit, having not owned an Omega for several years, and having grown tired of the constant politichat and the attitudes of a few, I very nearly pressed the big red delete button last week..

..then I asked a question about oil, and figured I'd stay around ;D Plus there's a few folks I can only communicate with here (they're ideologically opposed to Facebook/LinkedIn/etc and I don't have their mobile numbers ;D)..

I believe I originally joined in 2006, but took a rest from it for a while about five years ago.  :)

9th July 2006 for me, and user number 2 after user "admin". And I have the first post.

Wow, what a ride its been, and I look back at how OOF as helped everyone with some pride.  Its certainly helped me - remember Project TB2?

Without wishing to blow smoke rings up your arris - Its still my favourite and best run forum by far. I have had a lot of fun on here over the years. Lost my temper and had stupid arguments. Dismantled Omegas and sold the parts one here when I didn't know how I was going to pay my monthly bills. Had help and advice right from day one, when my first Omega had every problem common to Omegas. And when my current and definitely the last Omega is gone, I will still be here to take the p1ss out of STEMO and Opti.
Its a bit like a dysfunctional but likeable family, I think.
Im a member of several other forums, but none are constructed or run anywhere near as well as OOF.

Indeed he did, hope that V6 of yours is still in as good a nic, The corrosion at the front end of your old silver one was quite frightening when I dug into it so you did right to get shut !

Do I ever ;D.  That bugger would not shift. A quick cup of tea and sarnie later, and it virtually just fell off ;D
