..........
24.7mpg.  Oops.  Fuel computer read 29.9mpg, but we know Jag fuel computers are as honest as a cheap watch.

You must drive like a complete animal.   ;D

Agreed. A 3.0l auto Omega estate does that in mixed use. Almost 30 fully loaded on French motorways. Hell, my 525 manual estate was averaged low 20s over the 7 years I had it - desperately low gearing did it no favours.

If I had to run a diesel, it would need to break 40mpg all the time to be worth the downsides.

My diesel does 67mpg, but I still wouldnt want it as my only car. Its a tool to do a job* just like a microwave.

Touched it for the first time in 2 1/2 years.
Found more rust than I was expecting so started stripping it ready for repair.

Done very little recently, but now have 10 days off work and hoping to get stuck in, including three cambelts, hopefully.
Quite a lot of the planned work is on sons Punto, so my own cars may well get neglected again.  ::)

Looks very much like the boy has a lead foot🤭

Either that or he follows the Jag's woeful sat nav, which will only send you down roads if they have grass growing up the middle. Especially if they happen to run parallel and about 100m away from a fast A road that's going to the same place.  ::)
Mine has a desire to plan all routes to go near Castle Bromich.  It obviously likes to visit its birthplace ;D

Other than that, the Sat Nag is pretty decent in mine. Guess yours is the Touch Pro type one, not the older HDD Gen2.1 that mine is?

Had a tyre disintegrate.

Fortunately, it was on a toy car, not a real one ;D

I need to work out how to get the foam back in it through the tiny split right at the top that it came out of ;D

Nope, BMW 335d Luxury touring. Not in any way what I planned, but ticks all possible boxes and means the fleet can be slimmed. Although that will involve cleaning the berlingo  :o

Get it mapped to stage one then,  Celtic tuning I would recommend, more mpg and more power!
You owe yourself that for buying an oilburner😉

Absolutely will be doing, the day the approved used warranty runs out. I'd obviously read the hype about them, but I really wasn't prepared for how un-diesely they are in terms of performance.

Also finding one in non M-sport bling spec was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

I didn't realise the 330s came in SE spec.

This one is proper 60yo golfer spec, light metallic blue sitting on the luxury alloys. Beige leather - naturally  ;D. Should be a real little sleeper once the badges come off the back.
