3.2 stalling when pulling up at junctions...
« on: 14 November 2013, 19:25:44 »

As above... pull up at a roundabout/give way, foot down to pull out, blocks the engine has stopped ::)

Codes are...

0115
0443
0430
0300
0302
0304

It restarts readily enough, but not instantly. Otherwise goes like the proverbial poo from a shovel (cold air helps). Engine is up to temp, fans doing what they should, temp gauge ok. No obvious vac leaks or plugs loose, I only disconnected the injector and rear multiram plugs for the stat change any way :-\ also the idle before it dies is fine but once restarted it hunts a bit, hence the misfire codes I guess...

The purge valve is a known entity, I can recheck the hose and plug easily enough, but which sensor produces the 0115 :-\

Now on 258k, cambelt done at 240k along with plugs/air filter... only started playing up today, and has done 300 miles since stat change, so not convinvced it's related :-\

Ta :y

Had another rummage and found the cause of the stalling/mardy idle...

The spring clip on the purge valve hose at the breather bridge had failed and pipe had come off ::)
Press the brake pedal on overrun and the inlet air pressure discrepancy stops it dead.

Can feel nothing wrong with the wiring/plug on that sensor, so guess it's toast... genuine new or chance second hand, don't know how reliable they are...

Haven't a clue what one looks like but there is probably one on my 2.6 breaker, get a pic and I'll see if it's there

Rob G to Omega help ;D

I think there are only two things screwed into the coolant bridge... the spade terminal sensor for the temp gauge and the other one which would appear to be the ecu temp feed :-\

My first V6 would do that, stall occasionally at junctions. Took me months to cure, turned out to be MAF sensor. Easily checked by unplugging.

Looking at that I thought there were three connections, yet was sure that only two were electrical, but couldn't place the third ;D
