LSD conversion....?
« on: 31 August 2015, 10:18:12 »

What is invlolved in changing from the standard rear diff to a LSD....?

Is it a simple case of finding a MV6 and taking the diff from that car and fitting it to mine or is there more involved...?

I don't want someone to come along and start spouting about different gear ratio's and how it will effect the cars economy (LOL) or how it will lose top end speed or even if it will need another gearbox eventually etc...

Its just a hipothetical question... if its possible to do to mine...

Mine BTW is a X25XE couple to a AR25 gearbox with as far as I know standard Elite diff....

BTW not trying for 0-60 times but thinking when its time to scrap it - possibly next year - to turn it into a track car just for shits and giggles really...

Ok, without spouting off about gear and drive ratios and which was fitted to what, the factory spec MV6's where never fitted with LSD.

What about Carlton GSis (I know they're not exactly plentiful) and Senny 24valvers weren't they fitted with them after a certain year?

Just if it can help the OP widen the net  :)

Senator and Carlton 24v were fitted with LSD, can`t remember if it was standard or optional but plenty had them.

I think it`s the casing thats different but the internals are the same.
