LPG has obviously improved since the last time I sampled it then (10mph less on top end compared to petrol, and a noticeable loss on acceleration right throughout the range).

Still worth the money if you intend to keep the car long term though (until the government gets wise and whacks the duty on).

You will always get slightly less power on LPG unless you have a liquid injection system so the octane rating doesn't really come into it.

However, my 3.2 doesn't have noticeably less power on LPG. Certainly not enough to reduce the top end (whatever that is - couldn't possibly comment  :-[) by 10 MPH. SGI systems are pretty good.
