Not noticed it before but despite having deep insulation in loft today there are globules of water that have dripped onto some items. We moved from freezing to thaw pretty quickly today and wonder if this is just a one off. Is this normal - have googled but not getting clear info. I will call someone like Homelogic but they will no doubt want to sell me an expensive solution.

Thoughts appreciated.

does the new hatch have an airtight seal 
if not, your loft is now working as a de-humidifier for your house

I put vent bricks into the gables of my roof which resolved this.

Has your insulation been packed tightly into the eaves? 

Depending on the construction of your roof, there might be gaps where the air can circulate or there might be vents on the soffits that are blocked by insulation material.  For example, my roof has Marley tiles and there are natural gaps with the corrugation of the tiles.

An easy way to increase ventilation in a loft, is to make some wedges from polystyrene and push them in where the felt overlaps on the underside, separating the felt from the layer above and creating an airway.

The thing is, from what Phil is saying, the loft has had no alterations or changes from when it was dry (apart from the hatch, which is sealed). So, I would wait and see if it was actually the rapid change in weather conditions wot did it.

Get a good roofer to put a vent tile each side of the roof that will sort it👍

Its clearly poorly ventilated (not good)
