He should set up charging points on his estate and open them to the public. For a fee, of course.

The engines weren't a problem, as they were old fashioned and under-stressed.
But, he cars weren't very well made and the electrical systems were crap.

One would hope that last one has improved if they're going all electric....

I'm as depressed as Marvin.... :-\

I think the E-Type and XJ6/12 from the sixties and seventies were 'slung together' by an apathetic workforce who just didn't care.

Both my 'Jaaaags' are well screwed together, and have only suffered with relatively minor problems.

I know this isn't a popular view amongst all you diesel-heads here, but I think the established car manufacturers are way behind the curve when it comes to EV's and have let the newcomers like Tesla steal a march.   ::)

You'd think that once they fully engage though, the likes of Ford, GM, JLR, Toyota etc will wipe the floor with Tesla and the newer Chinese companies, but we'll see!  :)

Yeah, kinda..... Had it not been for Tesla, the 'well established' manufacturers would have continued to drag their heels and do the square root of naff-all.

I'll hold judgement for now, but when first to market has patents on so many things, it does somewhat thwart the opposition.

There are companies out there that will remove that dirty, smelly, polluting, noisy, ICE from your Jaaag and replace it with a quiet smooth clean electric motor and you'd probably have more power as well!  8)

What's not to like?!  :)

Ex JLR management car that one.

As for the patents and Tesla, you would think they have them but, there is virtually nothing of importance! No surprise though as electrical drive and batteries have been around for a very long time in other applications.

As for the electrical systems, never been a weakness, software, now that's a different story

The question still remains, where are we going to get all the power from? We can only just keep up with demand in a bad winter.
