As next trip I'd like to do Vietnam  :)

Went out yesterday to find another flat tyre on the Mundano.  >:(

So today I took it to a local tyre shop and had them take all the tyres off and clean up the rims.  :)  Hopefully they've done a good job and it'll solve an annoying problem.  :-\

I won't say what it cost, let's say I forgot the KY!  :o  ::)  :(

Nothing like an immobile car to trigger a good shafting.  ::)

Back on topic for me, anyway: I drove the girlfriend's car to work today.. that's ~90 miles down the A34, M40, M25 (because it's faster to do that than the 75 mile direct route on the M1 & M25) in her 1.0 litre, 84bhp, turbocharged Smart ForTwo.

I'll say it was "slightly less relaxing" than the drive is in the Skoda ;D but probably about half as expensive in fuel..

Why does the car world need a turbo to extract a paltry 84 BHP from 1000cc when the biker boys enjoy 200 BHP in N/A form from the same capacity?

Because then the poor old Briggs and Stratton in the back would have to rev twice as high and you'd need ear defenders. ;)

Because then the poor old Briggs and Stratton in the back would have to rev twice three times as high and you'd need ear defenders. ;)

Fixed that .. it's only got a 6k red line (and cruised to work at 3500rpm all the way ;D). I suspect it's also because nobody driving a car wants to use 6000rpm every time they pull away ;D I imagine at ~1200rpm the little three pot in the Smart has a lot more torque than your average litrebike.

I reckon a Megabusa would be quicker and more torquey than the mighty Smart. :)

Anyway, it's old news, but looks like it would spice up Aaronjb's commute a little! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgwzHJo3IXM :D

A bit damper in the rain, though  :)

Kevin - I've seen the bike engined Smarts :) There's a company still running doing conversions, somewhere - I remember seeing their sign-written Smart on the motorway a while back. Bonkers, but I can't imagine Louise going for it .. or it being particularly well suited to L plates ;D

That 'Blkesmart' sounds demonic and goes like shit off a shovel. With such a short wheelbase I think that could end up on it's roof. :y

I reckon they'd be OK if you stuck them on with some decent glue. :y

;D ;D We had to buy the static cling ones and put them inside the windows as it is, what with the whole thing being made of plastic and all..

Considering how "top heavy" it looks, it (hers, not the Bikesmart one) feels totally planted.. if a little (very) skittish.

The Smart looks as though it has all the crash protection of a wet Kentucky fried chicken box.

It holds its own...

Surprisingly the Smart is heavier than my A Class :o

No wonder it needs a turbo :D
