Can some one confirm that the correct spark plugs for my engine are part number GM 9195109 twin spark?

Thanks

My Catalytic Converter is rusted out and will need replacing sooner than later.

I got in touch with a company that specialize in original Vauxhall parts and they quoted just over £1000 for the original GM cat.

I was told that they can get an equivalent made by BM Catalysts for £205 + £7.50 delivery and they are made to the same standard and quality that Vauxhall use.

Has anyone heard of BM Catalysts and are they that good?

I've been using GM 10w40 semi in mine since I got the car.

Is anyone using or swopped over to GM 5w30 Dexos 2 engine oil from 10w40 semi and are there any advantages or disadvantages in using this instead?

Thanks

I have been told the front o/s caliper is sticking by my garage who did the clutch for me.

I have just put new VX front discs and pads in since and gave the car a full brake fluid change. I also pushed all caliper pistons back to get rid of as much of the old fluid as possible but the car still pulls to the left when braking. All looked fine and the caliper was free moving.

I will be replacing the caliper myself. Is it OK to replace with a second hand or a generic third party one or is it best to get a new VX one?

Thanks

Omega General Help / Front brake pads question
« on: 15 July 2015, 17:17:23 »
Just opened a box of new VX front brake pads and two of them are different from the other two. See link.

Is this normal?

If it is normal. Which ones get fitted on the inside and which ones get fitted on the outside of the disc?

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Totalclosure.com

Just went to order the Total closure kit from totalclosure.com and the web site is closed.

Have they moved web site or have they gone out of business?

Are there any mods that can be done or any other units on the market that will do the same?

Omega General Help / Dual Mass Flywheel 2.2 Z22XE
« on: 09 July 2015, 20:18:08 »
I was going to do my own clutch replacement but I can't get under the car due to my health.

I went to my local garage and was quoted £360. Includes gear box oil, 2 piece clutch kit and a slave cylinder plus 2 hours labor.

If the duel mass flywheel needs replacing it will be another £427.19

I was told that if its weeping then it will have to be replaced and if not leave it alone, if the dual mass flywheel is OK, because once the flywheel is removed and put back on it will have problems down the line. What are your thoughts on this?

I have already replaced the front crankshaft oil seal and asked them if they could replace the rear one when they had the box off.

Is it common for the dual mass flywheel on the Omega to fail?

Is the thrust bearing separate or is it part of the Concentric slave cylinder?

Thanks

Are the H1-Osram-Night-Breakers any good and will it be a simple straight swap on my Omega 2.2 CD 2003?

These are the ones I want to fit, unless you know of any better legal ones that I can just swap over?

Anyone got a good condition z22xe sump oil pan?

Thanks

Just pulled back into the drive after successfully getting the clutch to bleed fully, only to find oil on the drive. At some point in the past the sump pan has been dented by something but now has started to leak.

Can this be repaired permanently or short term with the sump left in situ?

Anyone got the part number for the Z22XE oil sump pan or know where I can buy one?

Thanks

My clutch felt fine and gear changes were smooth for well over a year. The fluid level was low all that time but above the minimum line. I didn't realise that it was below the min clutch fluid pipe.

I started to have difficulty getting into 1st and reverse when the engine was running but went into gear fine with engine off.

I reverse bled the clutch 4 times. The clutch feels like it did before not spongy but firm. Gear changes have got worse after the bleed.

I think I may still have air in the system. Is there any way to pressure bleed the clutch from the top?

I think I read somewhere that if I press and keep the clutch pedal to the floor when pressure bleeding from the top it would eliminate any air. Has anyone else tried this method and did it work?

Thanks
