Omega General Help / Clutch replacement advice needed

I am going to replace the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing and possibly the concentric slave cylinder in my 2002 2.2i manual.

1. If there are no signs of the concentric slave cylinder leaking or had been leaking. Does this indicate
 that it is in good working order?

2. would it be wise to replace the concentric slave cylinder as a precaution?

3. Does the release bearing come as part of the concentric slave cylinder or will I have to buy one?

4. Are LUK clutch kits and LUK concentric slave cylinders any good?

Is it possible to pressure test the brand new concentric slave cylinder for leaks before re-fitting the manual gearbox and how would I do it?

I've never done one before and don't want it leaking fluid all over the new clutch.

Any one fitted a touch screen double din stereo in there FL Omega, what make did you fit and are you pleased with it?

Do you have a photos so I can see what it looks like fitted?

What is different between the 2.2i and 2.6 both FL's suspension, steering rack/box, chassis setup etc?

The steering and handling is so different between the two it's very noticeable. I would have thought both would be similar.

Omega General Help / Manual gearbox problem

Engine off gearbox goes into gears smoothly with or without clutch.

Engine running and using clutch its very hard to get into any gear including reverse. When driving gears change really smoothly. When stopped and put into neutral the gearbox sometimes goes back into gear fine and other times it won't

Reversed bleed the clutch today and it made no difference.

What could be the problem?

Does anyone have the part number for an Omega 2.6 estate 2002 rear vented disc brake pad kit (4 pins and 2 anti rattle springs)?

VX want the earth and eurocarparts only got the one kit for solid disc's and not the vented ones.

My drivers door solenoid has failed. Before I take it all apart for nothing will the solenoid from a rear N/S door fit the drivers door?

Is the Laser 3302 Engine Timing Set for GM V6 a good set?

I have read somewhere that some sets don't fit correctly and are not very precise at setting things up for the timing. Mainly the crank locking tool. I want a reliable tool that once setup will be 100% correct.

Just purchased the car and the air con was not working. I read some where that if the air con has lost all its gas that the compressor won't run at all. Is this correct?

Is there any way to test a MAF meter with a multimeter to see if its faulty or good?

Just purchased an Omega 2.6 Estate 2002. Didn't know about the problem until it over heated coming back home from buying it. All three cooling fans are not running most of the time. When the engine reached just over 100degC the two front fans came on but only for about 5 seconds and then went off. The main radiator fan didn't come on at all.

I put the multi meter on all 6 pins in the fan test connector with the ignition off and on to double check for voltages before grounding any pins and my results are below.

Ignition off
FT1 12V
FT2 0V
FT3 0V
FT4 0V
FT5 0V
FT6 0V

Ignition on
FT1 12V
FT2 12V
FT3 12V
FT4 12V
FT5 12V
FT6 0V

It shows on the diagram for testing that only pin FT3 should be 12v with the ignition on.

Clearly the test results can't be right.

What would cause this?

Just purchased an Omega 2.6 2002 Auto estate. Picked it up last night and drove it home the 40 miles.
On the motorway the temp stayed around 85 until I came off and slowed in traffic on the dual carriageway. It then shot up to over 100 so I quickly turned the engine off until it cooled enough to get me back home just.

I was told the Air con needed re-gassing but its been so long that the seals have probably dried up and needed replacing, but it all worked fine apart from that. I started the car this morning and there was no clunk and no change in engine revs when I pressed eco on and off and the two front fans did not come on with the Air con switched on. What could be the problem?

Should all 2.6 Auto Omega estates 2002 have traction control as standard?

Does it also have stability control as well?
