I've been having some strange issues with the wiper and indicator stalks on the V70.  The rear screen wash wipe button has stopped working and the intermittent wipe is.... intermittent.  Also sometimes when I indicate, the windscreen wipers come on...  ::)

So bought a complete stalk assembly on ebay and first tried changing the stalks but no joy, so removed the airbag and steering wheel to change the bit that sits behind the wheel to find that the one I'd bought was different!  ::)  It must have come off a V70 without cruise as there was a plug socket missing.  :-\

I did achieve something though, as I fixed the wobbly steering wheel issue by tightening up the bolt properly when I reassembled.  :)

With Comand 4.5 / 4.7 (not looked for other versions) there is a trick where you can do the map update an unusual way...
Basically get the map you already have on usb....but remove most the files, and use this to start an update....it doesnt need a code as its the same version you have.
It tells you it cannot find the media and to supply it, you give it the new files, it still compains, you pull that stick out and put it in again, and off it goes, Happilly updating!   Let me know if you need more info ;)

Noticed the windscreen rubber hanging out. Sigh.

I'm guessing even if my Silkaflex did every land, it would be knackered by the superheating it sustained on its way up.

Silkaflex still the best to stick the rubber in with?

Annoyingly, it just started first time, and drove home without fuss or drama. Bloody thing.
