Title: High Wycombe Autumn Meet
Post by: Terbs on 27 July 2015, 10:25:18
Hi all....

I have booked the Community Centre at Hazlemere for our Autumn Meet on Saturday October 10th
I know its well in advance, but those wishing to stay at the Papermill Premier Inn can get booked in in advance and hopefully save a few bob. The Pre-Meet meal would obviously have to be the Friday evening.

If you are interested in coming to the meet, please respond.
Easy access from M40, M25, M1, M4, A404, A4, A40.
We are 3 miles from the Papermill Premier Inn, Loudwater. Do not book the Premier Inn in the centre of High Wycombe.
All usual facilities. However, we will have to be clear by six at the latest, as there is a function on in the evening. :y
PM me if you have any enquiries about the meet.

Tony

If there is space in the corner out of the way by the bins for me to park I am allowed out to play
Hopefully the car will be remapped and have its new exhaust fitted by then it's going in to Thorney Motorsports to have the work done   ;D

Hi Mr. T. Thanks for organising another gathering at your excellent venue. I know you always bring along all three of your cars. Afraid I cannot bring along all six of mine, but I have arranged that my daughter will bring her 2.6 (MOT is due) to exchange with my 3.2, so we shall have two cars there. See you on the 10th.

Sadly won't be able to make this meet :(

New role involves a 'flexible' shift pattern, and Octobers' roster sees me working 12 hour days on the 9th and 10th and an early shift, up at 0245 on the 11th, so popping over for the inevitable curry is also out...

Must be the first Wycombe meet I have missed, but sure it will be upto Terberts usual standard :y

People start arriving from about 10.30 on. I am always on site early anyway.
This meet will have to finish by 6 anyway, due to a function after in the main hall. :y

Tony i was gutted i couldn't make the last one but it was unavoidable due to being abroad on business

I am presuming you remove the switch from the inside of the car as opposed to from underneath? - i don't mind "experimenting" on the day!!

It's the switch assembly on the side of the gearbox... Requires ramps and a couple of spanners/sockets to unbolt the selector rod and the bolts to the gearbox casing and unplug the loom... Then switch out and dismantle/clean as per guide :y

Generally doesn't need realigning if you are just cleaning it.

The alignment is to ensure gear lever is in the "right position"

Many thanks to Terbs & Chris for yet another great day & indeed the Friday night get together with Mr & Mrs Nitro & ourselves at the Prem inn  :y :y

Great to meet a few more new faces & as well as seeing the regulars, Some very nice cars to be admired there on the day.

Apologies to Nick W  for getting him involved in what probably turned into a nightmare adjusting the wiper sweep on Johns  black 3.0 MV6 :( :( .  I hope it all got sorted as I  had to leave while it was still being done  :'( :'(

This oof thing is certainly unique in the freindship & social aspects in my opinion & long may it continue :y

Looking forward to Sereks social get together in November now  :y

Thanks for a great meeting Tony and Chris. Pity it wasn't as warm as Friday, but at least it kept dry.

I am a bit ashamed of my tatty my cars compared with other members' cars at Wycombe meets. After the meeting I called on an old school friend who who has made too much money and now lives at Cookham Dean. I found his place and proudly parked my daughter's Omega alongside his dodgy motors, see pic. I had arranged to see him at 3pm, but when I rang the door bell there was no reply, turned out he had stood me up. I walked all round the house looking for him, taking photos, no-one about. In desperation I rang him, no reply, so I left a grumpy message and set off for Somerset.

As I was leaving the wretched man appeared and flagged me down. Turned out he lived next door. His cars are a Range Rover and a Honda Jazz.

It did take an embarrassing amount of fiddling about though!

I really like these meets; a good venue with facilities, food, well attended to put faces to names and some fun work on cars. Not having a curry afterwards was a bit disappointing.

Not having a curry afterwards was a bit disappointing.
Hopefully, normal service will be resumed next time...  ...my best laid plans went to pot a few days before the meet, so for me it was only ever going to be a quick meet this time :(

Shame, as a late-ish night on a Saturday is an ideal opportunity for a curry...   ...and due to time constraints, I had to make do with a rather naff microwave chilli from Tesco :(
