« on: 22 February 2017, 09:01:46 »
My mot place is a good relaxed atmosphere and the guys there only do mots no repair work carried out(apart from minor bulbs on the spot)

I have used them since they opened a couple of years ago and have taken friends cars there he used to be the owner of the garage who looked after SWMBO Omega when we had it

If something needs failing it will but if not then your good to go and for a Mere £39 im safe in the knowledge im well looked after (bonus free tea/coffee & Wifi)  :y

4) Rear Subframe Bushes Worn

Rear donut bushes are available off the shelf, either GM or poly (Pedders sell them, IIRC) and poly are a relatively easy DIY.  If they mean the diff bushes though, those are no longer available so need remanufacturing (Nick W has a post on that) or good secondhand (hard to find), still easy enough to fit though.

5) Offside Front To rear brake pipe corroded

Wire brush it, make sure it doesn't look like a dogs c.. dangly, grease/paint and forget.  If it looks too far gone then replacement is the only option and if you're not competent you'll want to pay someone like serek to do it.

6) Both Rear inner Sills corroded
7) N/S Front inner wing corroded.

Get the screwdriver out and start poking, if any holes appear, find a good welder.  If not, grind back, paint, and forget (unless you intend to keep the car a number of years and then get it welded instead)

Yes i plan on keeping the car for as long as it keeps running so want to crack down on any issues as it will be a daily driver also.

So out with the wire brush it is then

The bushes i will call and confirm today but i think they ment the dounut not diff bushes

The mot guy is not one to point out just anything as iv been using them for years and been happy with the service/standard  :y  :y :y
