Hi,

Is it worth trying to get some kind of meet going for the Reading area?

We could convoy down to somewhere like, dare I say it, Hayling Island, Southsea, New Forest or something and maybe pick up some more southerly members on the way.

Anyone up for it?

We have in the past had a mini meet along the A4 at Maxi's cafe last year which went ok. They have a big car park so plenty of space. Not to worried about fixing problems but we could all give advice, best to keep it local insted of travelling to far. Its usually cambelt meets and the like that get more interest and alot more members turn up.

Just my opinoin.

Mrs can drive home? Hmmm maybe not. Went to the WIM day today. Met some oofers. The boy did my software and keys for a fraction vx prices. Good lad.

What about a meet at somewhere like the Cunning Man, Burghfield?

Reasonable size car park, good food and the all important beer? Also, on the canal, so a short walk afterwards to walk your meal off?.

14th of June is good, my Saturday off plus it gives plenty of time for everyone to get that date sorted.

OK, something has cropped up (wife selling some stuff at bootsale at Prospect Park in the morning) so I don't reckon we'll be there til about 2:00pm.

Yeah, just after I sold my Vectra and bought a BMW, I was bullied by a couple of VVOC members to go to one of their meets.

I was the only one that turned up.

So the only person at a VVOC meet was a BMW driver...What is the world coming to?

Ah course you can chris. I will be there if I can get home quick enough, unfortunately I am working upto 1pm but should get there for 2 pm. Anyway more the merrier the more we get there the car park could be ours for a while!!!

Well thanks to all those that turned up.

My first meet (well, that anybody else turned up to) went well.

Was great to chat to like minded people and check out some other cars. Unfortunately, mine was the runt of the litter, but had a clean engine bay

Cambelt managed to get me home

but I can see an imminent trip to Midhurst coming. Get your Alladin's Cave ready, I'll have a scrounge whilst I am there.

It was a good meet indeed, our first one too but won`t be the last!
Good food and great company but next time, i guess we should place bookings for the car park one day before

Mike, on ur way south, pack some elastic bands just in case [smiley=tongue.gif]
Let me know if (when) we`ll be going ahead with it as i may need to order bits beforehand.

Your car wasn't that bad Mike from what I saw, well I was standing little further away than everyone else, But hey it was good to put faces to name's. Yes your right Mike should be a regular thing so, lets see if we can get some more to join.

There were some nice looking mods that had been done to a couple of the miggys which I hopefully will intend to do to mine if the funds are better.
