I've found several in various places on various aircraft while doing the walkround pre-flight. Some I still use. :y

This takes me back, Tool Boxes are checked in and out in the RNAS and we lost a spanner, had to virtually strip a Wasp Helicopter until it was found, grounded till we did........ :D :D

Nowt has changed,my oldest lad is an AET on 771 sqd at Culdrose and the kit is still counted out and back in :y

I've never found any, but I have lost a few - a 10mm socket disappeared inside a chassis member on my old MR2, never to be retrieved again.

I also lost the oil filler cap on that car .. only to find it several years later when we removed the bumper and it dropped out from between that and the arch liner ;D

I do have an adjustable spanner that has "NEIL" engraved on it.. my Dad found that in the MT section car park ;D

When we drained the sump on 47292 we found in the crud in the sump, 14 spanners, 5 sockets and a 1/2 ratchet....and the spanners were far from small

My colleague used to work on Vulcans in the RAF. Apparently a table and chairs was found in one of the fuel tanks on an aircraft following reports of a knocking sound when manoeuvring after a lengthy overhaul. ;D

That would take some doing in a bag tank!.......I did hear stories of multiple sets of golf clubs being brought over from the US in the bomb bays and tail chute compartment

I have several Snap-on tools found in scrap cars, including a couple of ratchets which are scruffy, but still usable. a quick look through scrap or salvage cars is always worthwhile, as we often find enough change to buy lunch!

Under the backseat of one my Capris I found three, different single stockings. I'll leave the rest to your imagination, but I can guarantee that everyone involved was short ;D
