Went to do my mate's brake pads on his Hyundai Tragic Trajet today and OMG his calipers are f.....d. You can't push the pistons in. There's so much rust and SEVERE uneven pad wear and I've advised him he needs new calipers both sides as they're both the same.

However he's also got a stuck slide pin on the O/S brake caliper (when I say stuck I mean it wouldn't move even when beating on it with a hammer) but looking on eGay I cant find one that says O/S/F. Do they fit both sides by just turning them round (sorry if that's dumb but I've spent 4 hours fighting with this and I'm nackered lol)

Here's the link to what I think I need....O/S/F needed....

Cannot tell from that picture :-\ whether they're reversible depends on the geometry and shape...

If the ends are identical mirror images then should get away with it, but any slight deviation and they won't fit over the disc :-\

Yeah that's what I thought, Al but when I looked at the pic I started to doubt myself  ::)

I'll post a question to him on eBay. See what he says.

Cheers mate  :y

Can't you drill the old pin out and just fit a new set of pins? that's what happen when you don't do proper servicing :(

Probably, but the amount of crap and crud that'd be left I doubt I couold get out and for the sake of £20 I'd rather just replace it imo :)

You're right... it looked terrible. The O/S was the worst... outer pad 10mm of material... the inner one down to the backing plate  ::)

Ok, mate's spoke to his mate and he's decided to take his calipers to ECB (or EBC, whatever) and he's having them refurbed.

These look very bad with rust. Will they be able to refurb any in any condition? Just wondering.
