Omega General Help / Re: 2.5 / 3.0 ecu are they the same ?
« on: 29 August 2017, 20:17:14 »
I also have 3.2 with 3.0 ECU and works just fine, the differences are so small.
Not without other drastic changes you haven't ;)

What changes? Only difference is bore and stroke, nothing else. It works just fine with a 3.0 ECU with such tiny difference.

Omega General Help / Re: Running lean

Most up live data readings, as randomly replacing parts often clouds the real problem.

Yeah I can try to post some live data tomorrow if I got time for it. Basically it seems to stay lean at idle and WOT, while cruising it seems "fine".

Omega General Help / Running lean
« on: 29 August 2017, 13:22:40 »
Just put two brand new Bosch O2 sensors on thinking the fault was in them but Im still running lean..
Coilpack is new, crank sensor is new, o2 sensors are new now...

What could cause this? MAF? I have another one but havent tried it yet cause wrong connector.

If you floor it from idle it sputters for a split second.

Cross reference the wires on the radiator switches ;)

Yeah, colors  on wires so why would it be hard to find the right one lol  :-X

50
It goes to a round sensor in the radiator.
This is for safety if its get to hot the AC pump is turned off.

S128

And how could I identify thia specific sensor? I would assume its somewhere on the right side of radiator (looking from front of car) where there are a bunch of plugs related to AC I think?

51
Where does the ground wire from the AC plug actually go?

If I ground it anywhere, AC works sure but is on constantly and like doubles the fuel consumption because it never turns off...

So if anyone has any idea where the other end of this wire actually is, would be nice so I don't have to tear the loom apart to find it...

The top didn't come off just by losing the screw(s) and drilling corners, it came loose but there were hidden solders under it that prevent the whole thing from coming off intact and propbably impossible to solder back on with regular tools.
Also can't even get the relays desoldered, they seem to really sit there...

So instead of just swapping this black box to my car I now have a broken black box and need to find a new one "oops" :D

Changing the ABS unit is apparently a pain in the bottom type of job, wonder if it's easier to replace the black box on top.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Disable passenger airbag?
« on: 06 August 2017, 12:59:26 »
Might take some tweaking, but you could try fitting a left hand front seat facing backwards instead of the right seat.

Remove the headrest for visibility reasons and slide the seat base towards the rear to allow clearance from the passenger airbag. Side airbag should still function normally. Not sure if the seatbelt would still secure the child seat, but suitably place ratchet straps would be as effective  :-\

Obviously the above is a hypothetical suggestion, but might give you some ideas ;)

Like this? :p
My Satellite doesn't have seatbelts so this works pretty well.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Disable passenger airbag?
« on: 05 August 2017, 10:55:13 »
Is it possible on 97? It is such a pain in the bottom to travel alone with a baby in the backseat because you can't put here up in the front with you, would be much more easier if I could put the child seat in the front of the car.
Ofcourse I have my Satellite for that but I would also like my Omega to have the child in the front...

So doable? How? Snippety snap some wires and some resistor to replace the airbag itself?

Omega General Help / Re: Crankshaft bolt
« on: 03 August 2017, 20:30:17 »
Make a tool that sits against the water pump and bolts on the crank gear with the pulley bolts. Then just brute force with a breaker bar and off it comes. Easy enough :)

I can take a pic of my ghetto tool that I used for the crank bolt tomorrow.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Manual ecu in auto car...
« on: 29 July 2017, 12:50:30 »
If I leave the battery disconnected for some time, the ECU seems to reset and it shows 4 cylinder/manual until I turn the ignition and it suddenly recognizes it as V6, then touch the shifter and manual changes to auto, which makes me think thet seem to learn just fine what is connected?
Not on an Omega ;)

Well that was just my experience with it, no clue if it actually works if I put a manual in or something, just what I observed when using "My Naff Code Reader" after battery was disconnected.

59
What is it? Is it the relays inside the ABS box? They are soldered on? How much of a pain is it to swap the black box?
