CID - With a rash....
« on: 03 October 2018, 13:30:34 »

Just testing some NCDC / CID bits I've acquired, has anyone seen anything like this on an LCD panel before? It looks like damp has affected it rather than dead pixels....

Meningitis

Wack it in the Airing Cupboard for a day or two, no need to sit with it.  ;)

If it doesnt clear up after a week, seek additional treatment.  ;D

Thing is, the screen is all sealed. I do have a brand new Sharp LQ126 panel I could fit but seems a shame as the current screen appears (famous last words) fine otherwise.

It's only a spare really as the three cars have CID's in already. I might mod it to take a video feed for a reversing camera as a little project....  ::)

Theres a Defuser between the Back Light panel and the LCD Panel, could be some muck, moisture or something going on with either the Defuser or the Back Panel Screen (Hot Spots), If, it all comes apart, could just need a good gentile clean with something  :-\

When you look at the spots at an angle ie, moving your head whilst looking at the same spot, do the spots look like they are behind the LCD Panel as in the background.

Aye, in the background.
Sounds like Rear Light Panel or Defuser then, option one leave it powered up for a long time and or Airing Cupboard job, or 2, take it apart and have a clean, I know there sealed, never taken one apart, but normally its just the metal frame that seals them, or put it another if got assembled it must come apart somehow, just be carefull with the LCD panel bit, I wouldnt have thought they are stuck together with glue like the modern Mobile screens, its too old for that.

I have hesard of peeps using Toothpaste then lens cleaner on the rear panel or Defuser to get rid of Hot Spots on older LCD TV Screens.  ;)

Worth a shot, what have you get to lose, never know you could become OOFs Resident CID Screen repairer, or the other side of the Coin, dont send it to VXL V6, He just breaks them.   ;D
