I suppose I'll have to join ABS to be allowed in this time, as ABS kindly let all OOFer's in last year.

Dates might be a problem for me, need to check. If free, I'd love to go again, as really enjoyed last year

You dont need to be a member of ANY affiliated club to gain entry, its a public event... not exclusive...

True, but I'd rather be in an enclosure with adults, as last year showed other areas (including some club enclosures ::)) do tend to fill up with mindless, moronic chavs.

Not sarcastic. They are quite quick if called.

Near us, but other side of one of the big streams, there were some chavs being obnoxious and inconsiderate - doors open on car, bongo trash blaring at full distortion from their Corsa, throwing cans in the stream, yada yada yada. Somebody reported them, security quickly came and told them to keep it down (and pick out all the cans from the stream). The next day they were at it again, so they got turfed off.

At any site that large, esp seemingly (again from my experience) those related to car clubs, you're gonna get inconsiderate retards. I though Billing security dealt with these mongrels really well :y

Well that puts my missus's mind at rest - I hope... she has a condition where she can have panic attacks and any noise or if she thinks something is going to go wrong she get s upset very easily...

Inconsiderate chavs will be told to be quiet by myself, I would even turn the music down for them... but I dont think they would like that LOL

This years ABS field centre display will be for the 25th anniversary of the Lotus Carlton/Omega
We are hoping for 50 cars on the sunday. Our previous record was at Castle Combe a few years back when 32 cars attended but due to owners other commitments, only 28 were actually together at any one time
The ABS website is currently undergoing the final stage of testing so when anyone joins online, providing there details are usable i.e no "handles" instead of proper names, forum access is automatic. We are gradually joining the 21st century!!!!

If you want to bring your car into the site then it is £10 per car per day, if you want to camp then it's £20 per night. If you park in the outer car park and walk in then it's free.
You only need to be a member of a VBOA club to camp in the show area, If your not a club member then you will need to camp in the public camping area

Last years was my first visit, and we travelled light knowing we could abuse Entwood's kind hospitality for BBQ, fridge etc etc. Both Suzie and I really enjoyed it. Not sure if we can make it this year though...

Yes - quite a big one. However you usually have to search quite hard to find Carlton/Senator/Omega stuff.

Not really. I've never bothered, although I have occasionally had one rammed down my throat for being awkward.  ;D

Once you're past the troll on the bridge, you're basically free to go wherever you want inside the showground. If challenged for your membership number on entry to the ABS field just should "I am not a number, I am a free man". Then park up. Always worked for me.

Me - I'm a Rebel without a clue.

More for just having a rummage and finding cheapish half decent tools and am in desperate need of a rolling cabinet... very nearly bought a snap-on a couple of years ago but had no way of getting it home in our Astra hatch we had coz it was full of baby stuff and a pram LOL

I've only ever paid a tenner for the car, regardless of occupants. I normally send a SAE to Gordon for the window sticker but I've never displayed it.  :-\

Type: Automotive Events
Opens: All weekend
Price Public admission to the park is subject to daily admission fees: Day entry £10 per car, per day - 1 night minimum stay applies on all Camping and Touring holidays.

If you're into your Vauxhalls/Opels then it is a great event and at £10 a car full it's good value too. While there is still ample time for things to alter/go totally wrong the signs are looking good for me and the mutt to make it this year-as long as weather forecast is favourable.

Not really associating myself with any club in particular, just gonna turn up and pitch-up the tintent and go from there...

Mine will be the big Lunar Delta caravan called Geoff :)

Really looking forward to this weekend...

Won't be setting off until the afternoon though as kids are in school and our babysitter (their aunty) cant pick them up until the afternoon anyway, so hopefully will be getting there for around 8PM ish... depends on traffic around Birmingham I guess too....

Weather is looking good for next weekend so far too :)

Same here....

It's the first time Pissy has been there since about 2007!!

She's easily going to be cosmetically the tattiest Omega there, but I'm not there to play the 'I've spent more money on my car and done less miles than you' game, I'm there for a sit down, enjoy the sun, see a few faces again, a pint, swap anecdotes, dirty jokes, and some repair/service tips... oh, and the autojumble of course!  :y

haha!! I managed to add a scratch on my passenger door mirror  >:( :'( the other day (was already scratched before I bought it, so at least not as bad as it could be)

Plus doesn't look like I'd have time to fit the new sill cover, so I'll be there with a sill cover with a very obvious missing jacking point cover... only discovered recently the existing jacking point cover was sticky-pad glued on.

Oh, did I mention she's bleeding filthy too?  :D

Got home around 2:30ish, I made the mistake thinking that the 'show' would be on Saturday not Sunday the day we was leaving... :( 1st time Iv been...

Wasn't happy about our pitch TBH, I booked well in advance to be amongst VVOC folk as Iv a few mates in that club, but ended up miles away from them on either Hire Fleet or Heron Way.... neighbours was a bunch of drunken chavs who had the security tell them to behave and turn the music down during the day then had them partying all through the night until around 5:30 on Saturday morning.... they then started to party again on Saturday with security telling them to shut-up or leave... they eventually shut-up... really not happy with where we was put,  expected to get what  paid for, so will be sending an email to Billing to let them know that I wasn't happy...

Anyhoo, think I'll be back next year but turn up early on Friday to get set-up, chill out Saturday and spend the day walking around, then Sunday wait for the show to happen, then Monday go home...

Still didnt see anyone from OOF except for this morning when I caught a glimpse of the Silver Omega on here that has the Supra engine installed....? He drove past me as I was parked up near to Vinnies chippy chatting to a couple of me mates...

Iv not took many pictures as me camera packed in just as I started to use it...

Popped down today.

Even being from N'pton and having been there lots of times...... we got lost  ??? ??? ??? ::) ;D ended up driving round the residents' static caravans and making a reet balls up  ;D

Anyhow, eventually figured out the map...

Got to ABS..... was a bit sad to see only two Omegas but love the Carlton, Senators, Lotus Carltons etc.

However, the highlight for me was the Crestas, vivas, Velox's etc. lovely!!!

I did notice quite a few more show cars that arrived on the sunday so maybe this is the day to go  :y

I found out that Sunday IS the day to go/be there....

We turned up late Friday, spent Saturday wandering around, I had a wander around the autojumble (wasn't much there for the Omega) I spent most of my time arounf the VVOC camp. Got meself sunburnt, especially top of my head LOL

Think we'll be going next year but setting off early on Friday morning, instead of late ...

Did have a good time TBH but would've been better if we had the pitch we was meant to have and our neighbours would have been quiet....

Saw plenty of classics around the area... And a modified black Omega, with large rear spoiler, towing a caravan at a BP station.
Also saw a smashed up classic, in the middle of one of the DCs, possibly a black Viva or Firenza - hope all were OK.  :(

That's the one!

Looked very tidy (excepting the tin shed on the rear), even for Gastronomic"I don't like modified bodywork"Kleptomaniac!

We were in the Fintail Mercedes, MrsGK had popped to the cashpoint...

TBH the bodywork hasn't been modified except for the Irmy kit and the LC rear spoiler, other than that it's only been lowered - bonnet bra fitted - modified headlights - DRL's .....

Thanks though fella, I don't remember seeing a Merc - but then again, Sunday was a bit of a blur to me as I was in autopilot mode LOL

Just had to google what  fintail is - thats what I would call a 'classic' Merc... I do seem to vaguely remember 1 of those at the BP station itself... You should've come over and said hello :)

Is not a bookshelf or ironing board - its a LC rear spoiler :y LOL

Its not there just for aesthetics either, it does actually work.... slows the top speed by 10MPH :)
