I see where your coming from but this guy hasn't seen my black omega and it doesnt need tech2 putting on it as far as I know.

I know, that's not what i was meaning, i wasn't refering to the black mig.

He does however want to put your other meega (not the black one) on tech2 to make it 'a little less German', cos it's illegal here. (Says he)  

With regards to the black meega, do the indicators flash when the alarm is triggered?

Sorry Kev I see where your coming from now, in response to putting my car on tech2 I wont be taking it to him it doesn't need it.

As far as I know the indicators do flash when the alarm is triggered but shall double check it tonight, you got me wondering now lol.

I would've said you had a problem with the black meega if it ain't flashing.

The flash is there for confirmation of the command you have sent. If you didn't have the flash you'd be left listening for the central locking activating so you'd know if it's worked, which is, well, nonsense.

Is he not perhaps trying to fleece you out of your hard earned dosh for correcting a non existent problem with Tech2?  :-?

To be honest it was mentioned through general chat as it was the same guy I bought my seats from.

I've never seen a car that doesn't flash them!

The black omega I have the flashers dont flash when locking and unlocking but mine does, I guess there must be some kind of reason for this.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Erm doesn't practically every car out there flash the indicators with remote alarms?  Just why would it be illegal anyway?  Someones pulling your leg.

Maybe, the guy who told me runs his own garage and happened to mention it although he did seem 100% sure on this.

Now not sure if there is any truth to it but I was told a little while ago that if the indicators flash when you lock and unlock the ECU is configured for Germany which is illegal in this country and would need changing using Tech2.

My car does the above, where as the Black omega I have the indicators dont flash when locking or unlocking.

I personally am not bothered whether they flash or not.

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Hi there

 I have an omega 3.0 v6 (ex police). Help I am desperate, I bought a leather inter for the omega (6 months ago) and then found out the chase connector did not mach the seat and was infarct the exact same as the passenger side one! Not a big deal I thought so I phoned my local dealer and asked them for a driver side seat control unit with out memory functions they were totally unable to help and said I would need a part number to get the control unit or an opel dealer no way I thought so I bought a part catalogue on ebay that did not have it in desperation I phoned all the dealers in 70 mille radius and contacted all the breakers I could find on the internet. Can you help me, as my German is not up to the task!

So you have a leather interior to be fitted but the original wiring in place is for standard seats with up/down mechanism.

Am I right to think the leather has the memory but you dont have the connecting piece of loom that plugs into the control box.

Even if you dont have the loom its possible to extend the cables and split/route and connect to the box direct should think doing it this way you would need some small flat connectors but should work.

If you have the loom then just cut the original connector off and match up the live and earth feeds then plug and play I managed to do mine using a nylon block connector.

Been looking on USA Ebay and found a Cadillac Catera rear view mirror but its got something different to the UK design it looks to have 3 buttons on it for something called Homelink.

high all i picked up an alpine radio and changer cheap but there is no front to the radio dont know if anyone have a front for sale if so could you let me know the model number is cdm 9825 rb.cheers john..

Not sure why someone would sell without the front but heres a complete one on ebay you maybe able to make use of it, I think this is the same radio.

I've just been reading all the info on retro fitting a high level brake light and a thing no one has mentioned is, if your car is fitted with an electric rear blind would the operation of the blind be effected by the high level brake light?

Well took the plunge and fitted it yesterday to see what its like, now the light itself sits just below the black strip and the led's are perfectly visible through the dimples on the rear window so looks good.

May fail an MOT but for the moment the light is perfectly visible to the cars behind.

Oh and I like the idea of the winscreen done on the insurance shall give that some thought.
