One for DG - MB Parts supplier
« on: 25 May 2020, 12:46:06 »

As per the title, my neighbour has a W203 wagon and is after some suspension components. He's recently fallen out with eurocr@parts and also doesn't want to go to mercedes, who will probably want him to sell his organs to finance the purchase.

I know you've been purchasing a few bits for Ze Barge recently and wondered if you had a preferred supplier for Merc parts?

Depends on budget.

Gone with Mapco on ebay for suspension parts, purely for budget purposes.

Doctor Car parts or Carpartsinmotion on ebay both seem reasonably priced with a decent selection of brand choice.

Have previously had good experience with Febi suspension parts as a compromise between price and quality.

It's worth getting Mercedes prices if only to gauge value for money on some of the premium aftermarket bits.

Also, consider FCP Euro and Pelican Parts as they carry genuine and OE suppliers at reasonable costs even when allowing for shipping.

Another point to consider is that many of the bushes can be replaced independently, which can allow for genuine parts for less than complete pattern components ;)

When I had a Merc I found the dealers fairly reasonable for parts, so worth checking out.  :y

Agree with all of the above.

That said I always search by Mercedes part number. Got genuine brake pads and cabin filters for less than cheapy pattern.

Always used genuine MB parts on both of my Mercs used to get a very good discount for being a member of the MB owners club, the parts for the 190e were heavily discounted because of its age looking back wish I'd never sold it..

Only it would be expensive to keep going now, as they never had the best rust prevention, and given their age now....

True. I had to learn to weld during the years I owned my 190D. Its been gone nearly a year and I still miss the rusty old pile of shite.
Modern cars just dont have that kind of character anymore. 190,s of any description are rising in value now, if you have a good one without the rust, or had the rust properly repaired.

My old 1993 190e is still on the road & still sailing through  its MOT with no mention of rust same as my E430 no rust whatsoever , guess I was just lucky with my purchases.

Would have been a bit of an investment then if you had kept it. :y
The prices of some 16 valvers (aka Cosworths) in good condition is eye watering.
