It's either cam cover gaskets, or some early 2.6 had valve stem seals that didn't seal, required new valve stem oil seals.

Thanks! a friend of mine worked as a motorspecialist as young!
He had followed behind me with his Tesla, he sad there were clean exhaust gases, before I had arrived to Umeċ, 224 english miles, If Ive converted right* 14 swedish Miles, 10 swedish km...

He sad it was common with many different cars and heavyer machines!
Valve seals!

then a guy in swedish opel group sad he had the same, valve seals. had found it in this group, known in this group, just in 2001 omega, and only the 179hp engine..

So the long driving, after much citydriving is correct for me, takes no oil!
How much is "known problem""? in percent??

some sad that the seals are mayed in metal, and glued..??
I that is was rubber?

So how freqent? were there production error? the glue if its metal?
Best regards!
Bengt, Sweden

Welcome to the forum.

You haven't really provided enough information to understand what your problem might be.

So what do you mean by:
'valve gasket issue'
and
'sudden oil consumption'

EG. Do you mean that your car is leaking oil or burning oil?

Yes! I´m from sweden...It´s valve steam seals  that I mean.- (ventiltätningar, in swedish)

A guy in the opelgroup in sweden, said that he had to install new valve steams in his 2001. And said that It was a known issue in this group, and it was seals of metal, glued, that wasn´t good?, As me It just was the 179hp engine?
One teori from a friend that had worked with different cars, many brands, and  heavvy machines drove after me and had not seen any sot or oil smoke from the exhauste pipes double pipes

I had a problem, the former owner only drove in the city, and when I tested the engine, with some kickdowns´and drove 12 swedish mile, and low oil level was indicated.

t had consumed 0,9liters! But the guy with the city, and then a long ride was right, It takes no oil after that!

But I have heard that this valve steams could losend from the glue, and be direct costly, so I have to repair It before It occurs, oil distroyingthe motor!

You know whats correct!
Thank You!
