Cornwall When It's Warmer Meet
« on: 05 December 2007, 22:18:14 »

There appears to be a bit of interest, even though it's too far, for a meet here in Cornwall in the new year.

Hopefully a cambelt party would be a good idea at the same time. The cars could be done at my work where we have a large yard and room for at least 4 cars inside if the weather wasn't so good.

There are good beaches nearby for the families if they felt like it.

Court Farm is in my village and the owner is a friend of mine so I may be able to negotiate a decent rate (Although he is a Cornish farmer so don't hold your breath). He also has a couple of large barns which we may be able to use for cars. They are usually used to store caravans in the winter as well as winter feed for the sheep.

Very early days at the moment so an indication of interest would not be taken as a commitment to attend at this stage.

For your information, there is now motorway and dual carriageway all the way to St Austell and it is only about 80 miles from Exeter, so about 30 minutes for some of you.  ;D

I have been to St Austell and it really is nice, you have Newquay around 20-25 mins away, Penewan Beach and Mevagissey 10mins away. An Asda plus a McDonalds close to Golfbudgie's.
I have voted for the works holidays at towards the end of May, go for a long weekend or even the week then :y

Yep. I'll be up for it. Have voted late may / spring bank as the weather is a little warmer then and I often have a few things going on early to mid May.

OK then. It looks like there's a bit of interest in this. I'll speak to Bill Truscott and get some prices and dates and post up early in the new year.

It looks like late May is favourite so I'll go for the Whitsun weekend.

Keep posting your interest.  :y :y :y

Where abouts Daz?? Last year, we took the caravan to Sandymouth near Bude. There were loads of people there with tokens from The Sun. The camp site was great with loads of static vans. The club house was great with entertainment for the kids from about 0930 to 2000. After that there was a cabaret every night. We stopped on for another night because it was so good.  :y

It has been running for this week I think Jamie, Mother-in-Law collecting them for us, but you have no guarantee if you go with another family of friends that you will both end up at the same Site.
