Omega General Help / Re: More power from a 2.0

like with any engine mate any improvements made to fuel in spark n gases out can but only help performance ...

good set of plugs and leads bosch super 4`s fuelcat leads , improved cold air feed to a aftermarket filter be it either standard airbox with sports filter or a cone idea like a k&n you can also source a modified throttle body along with a performance exhaust system,
itll never set the world alight in such a heavy car but those improvements should improve your overall driving enjoyment :y

hth al :)

best to get it checked still mate as any fault codes will be stored ..

it maywell be a problem in the pipeline and that was an early sign? with the codes you can determine what was happening before. :y

im sure theres a member with tech 2 on here somewhere localish to you who maywell do a check for a reasonable fee :)

if in doubt get it done mate ...
as said lt cheaper than and less stressfull than the belt snapping ... :y

Omega General Help / Re: WHITE MAYO. HEAD GASKET FAILURE?

Thanks for your reply. Any idea how much it would cost for the pressure test you refer to?

Am I right in thinking HG failure is rare on V6 Omegas?

Cheers.........

if a oof member has a sniffer doubt itll cost ya more than a burger n a brew or similiar ...lol
garages probs charge £10 ish ??

in my time with v6 vauxhalls ive never had to deal with a gasket failure but oil coolers are a bit of a common issue normally early symptoms will include oil in the expansion bottle ...

id try a sniffer then and if alls well treat the car to a good quality oil and filter change .....

short runs with old oil may give gasket failure symptoms mate ..

when was the oil changed last? maybe worth a refresh n keep an eye on things ....

if theres no smoke when driven fairly hard and no oil in the water id doubt the gaskets failed, maybe get a garage/oof member to do a sniffer test in you water expansion bottle, the process will determine if theres a possible gasket issue .. :y
