Central locking control unit
« on: 27 July 2009, 18:33:47 »

Hi,

I have a problem with my central locking. Although it works ok, the lights dont flash when the car is unlocked with the remote. The car is an S reg CD estate.

On my donor car (S reg CDX saloon) the lights do flash when they are supposed to.

Can I just swap the central locking control unit over, or is there anything complex to do with the keys etc? I'm assuming that the control unit is located in the drivers kickwell behind the audio junction connection.

If I do swap the units over is it advisable to disconnect the battery first?

I'm terrified about getting it wrong.

Many thanks ........ Robert

does the alarm go off when opened with key?

Also, try pressing hazrad switch 2 dozen times (they get dirty contacts)
