So On top of that, you have to spend £500 a year to tax it? You'd have to be a special kind of idiot to drop that much on a pretend 4x4 with a vx badge.  ;D

For the first year, at least. It's a 1.6 petrol with two electric motors, putting 300bhp at the end of your right foot if desired.

One of My daughters has a Grandland SE, in red, auto, and very nice it is, although missing extras like electric seats, rear window blind, dipping rear view mirror, leather seats, and having a 'plastic' feel throughout the interior, with no "S" button on the auto box, with generally no get up and go, with it's 1.5 litre engine (so how can it!), etc, etc.

So compared to my Omega 3.2 Elite in red, with everything I need when driving any distance, there is no match! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)

Yes, but we're not talking about that particular grandland.

No, a Grandland that is £45K, about £45K more than my Omega is worth to many, and a hell of a lot to pay back monthly, unless you buy it outright as Lord Opti can! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Lotus Carlton cost £48000 in 1990. However,  I believe it be far more iconic than the undistinguished and lardy 4x4 being discussed here. :)

30 years ago, how very typical  ;D Totally different vehicle, totally different concept. £48,000 in 1990 would easily be £100,000 now, you wouldn't get that for a Carlton.

Yes, I think Opti knows that, and I certainly do ::) ::)

What he is saying I think, and I certainly endorse, that a Lotus Carlton had more character, and was loved more, that these modern vehicles, full of plastic, No matter what the  price comparisons are. :D :D ;)

And my point is: if you paid £100,000 for a car now, it wouldn't be full of plastic, and would have plenty of 'character'.
